'Dangerous' convicted child sex offender who escaped Missouri hospital captured by authorities

A 'dangerous" inmate and convicted child sex offender who escaped custody while getting unspecified treatment at hospital in Missouri has been captured by authorities.
Tommy Wayne Boyd, 45, was caught Thursday night some six miles north of the hospital where he disappeared following a multi-jurisdictional manhunt involving local, state and Federal authorities, the St. Louis County Police Department announced.
The agency said the department was following leads when they located Boyd less than 24 hours after he disappeared, and took him into custody.
The post did not provide specific details about his capture.

A 30-year statutory sodomy conviction
Police said Boyd, serving a 30-year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections for statutory child sodomy, was transported to Mercy Hospital South from the Potosi Correctional Facility on Wednesday, for unspecified treatment.
He was last seen at 3:54 a.m. Thursday by hospital personnel and hospital surveillance video shows Boyd leaving the facility on foot.
Police said they were alerted he was missing about 4:30 a.m.
After he disappeared, police warned locals to be on the lookout for the sex offended asked them to report potential sightings by calling 911.
